As part of his interventions at the International Urban Health Summit (Herrenhausen Palace, Hanover/Germany), Roman created the sculpture Arborpolis (arbor = tree + polis = city), a meeting place where the organic and the urban merge – see online-porfolio (PDF) below.
Panel Speaker | Workshop Leader
Roman took part in the conference at the invitation of the Volkswagen Foundation (travel grantee) to intervene as a speaker of the panel “Community Engagement through Arts”. In addition, on behalf of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, he developed a customized concept to lead four interdisciplinary art workshops on the topic of urban health for the participants of the conference.
Roman's sculpture Arborpolis is inspired by the indigenous concept of the Palaver Tree and was transformed into a collective artwork during the conference. The following portfolio documents his interventions at the IUHS:
